She is the missing link between the cosmetic counter and the dermatologist’s office. Jan graduated from cosmetology school, specializing in esthetics and natural nail services. Knowing her true passion was not just for making clients beautiful, but healthy too, she furthered her education with advanced certifications in microdermabrasion facials, esthetics and makeup artistry. With close to 40 years of experience in skin care as a licensed esthetician at some of Pittsburgh’s downtown salons like Kauffman’s, Hornes, and Izzazu, Jan now provides full service skin care and beauty services at Studio West Salon.

One of Jan’s greatest skills is in skin care education. During her tenure at Kauffman’s Salon she was promoted as a premier educator and trainer for renown brands Adrien Arpel and Bioelements. In 1999 she began using Dermalogica products herself. With personal experience in how effective they were, she now exclusively sells and uses Dermalogica skincare products.

Jan has a gentle touch and sharp eye for what Dermalogica products will match well with different skin types and make for relaxing spa experience. She most enjoys getting to know her clients, their grooming habits and what life stresses might be affecting their skin, and then prescribing a balanced salon and at-home regimen to recover and maintain healthy beautiful skin.

Jan has worked with celebrities like former Pittsburgh Mayor Sofie Masloff, pop star Christina Aguilera, and Survivor reality star Jenna Morasca. She specializes in facials, hair removal, custom eye lash application, and natural manicures & pedicures.
