As owners of Studio West, we make it our mission to give back to the Steel Valley. “Watching this community grow up, generation after generation, through the Steel Mill closings and now witnessing its rebirth with the Waterfront revitalization has been such a huge part of my life”, says owner Susie Gamble. “It has been my privilege to serve the community and its residents.”

Co-owner, Caryn Cordero, likes to support the efforts of the Homestead Volunteer Fire Department regularly. She encourages Studio West employees to return the gesture and volunteer their time and talents. “We enjoy supporting our local charities and schools with donations of products, gift cards, and time participating in fundraising events.”

Rooted in the community, Studio West Salon is where you will find a well rounded group of beauty experts in your own backyard and possibly the place where you might catch up with an old friend. We have had the pleasure to serve families through generations and hope to witness many more generations to come!

Here are a few of the local organizations Studio West Salon supports to show care for our community:

  • Pantene’s Beautiful Lengths
  • American Cancer Society’s Look Good Feel Better
  • Operation Troop Appreciation & Veteran’s Appreciation Day
  • UPMC Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh Free Care Fund
  • Munhall Girl’s Softball Association
  • Steel Valley Baseball Association
  • Munhall & Homestead Volunteer Fire Departments
  • Friends of Carnegie Library of Homestead
  • Local churches

Pantene Beautiful Lengths Hair Donation

Studio West Salon teams up with Pantene’s Beautiful Lengths mission because healthy hair means a lot to us, and the appearance of healthy hair means so much to women battling cancer. We want to be there for women when looking and feeling healthy is so important to them. As one breast-cancer survivor put it, “It was very hard when my hair started falling out. It really takes away who you are when you look in the mirror.” Many of the women we help say that putting on a wig makes them feel like themselves again. And when you donate your hair to the cause, you’re helping make that happen. Are you looking to make a major change to your hair and want to support a great cause? Talk to your stylist about donating!

Look Good Feel Better

Susie Gamble and long time friend and stylist Anne Belcher run the monthly Look Good, Feel Better program through The American Cancer Society. The sessions last most of the day for one day per month where the cancer patients are shown how to adjust their beauty regimens to their changing appearances. The patients are given assistance with hair and makeup by our two veteran stylists, Susie and Anne, and are taught new ways to let their inner beauty shine through. Each patient walks away feeling better from the inside out upon spending time with Susie and Anne.
